It is unlikely that Hitler or Napoleon was stronger than any of his soldiers or unit commanders, but they all believed in him and unquestioningly followed his commands. The ruler cannot give commands directly to the executor; for this there are intermediaries who are between them. A relay is an element of an automatic device (and our washing machine is automatic) that closes or opens a circuit. Where the load is quite high, a relay is used, since turning on the heating element through a triac is very expensive and unreliable. Most relays in control modules are powered by direct current from the power supply, i.e., the voltage from the power supply is used to turn them on, and they control the voltage directly from the network. In this case, the voltage supply to the relay does not need to be stabilized, since from the first lesson you can see that the relay operates at 5-6 volts instead of the required 12 volts, but according to the designer’s calculations, at 12 volts the contact pressure will be the most optimal and they will not burn out, but very often these calculations fail or mechanical wear occurs and the relay contacts still burn out, which creates problems in the module. Semiconductors instead of a bunch of relays and switches A triac is a semiconductor element, which in principle is very similar to a relay, but unlike it, it has three contacts, not five, let's call them input, output and control, although this is incorrect for the mind, but my task is to explain, and not to show off my mind, what does it matter to a professor who probably says very smart and important things if no one understands him, but a jester can make fun of someone and show it from the outside so that he understands and thinks, so I’m not afraid to be a jester and call TNY shimka or not an anode/cathode, but an input/output, this is done solely to increase the number of those who understand and assimilate the material, and I ask your forgiveness if I wrote or said an inaccuracy somewhere, perhaps this was done deliberately... Intermediate signal amplifiers To operate the relay on most boards, a voltage of 12 or 24 volts is required, but the microcontroller can only provide 3.3 or 5 volts, what to do in this case? To amplify the controller signal, transistor switches or assemblies of such switches in one housing are used, such as the well-known ULN2003 microcircuit. Just like for relays for triacs, the weak signal of the microcontroller is often not enough and it is amplified in exactly the same way.
